Elon Musk has began the rebrand of the bird app to X fulfilling his long made promise of “creating X, the everything app”. Elon and Twitter CEO confirmed the changes by posting images of the new icon. The interim X logo has already replaced the Twitter bird logo.
An email has already been circulated to Twitter employees stating the company would be X. This rebrand has been met with mixed feelings among users. This rebrand has been met with mixed feelings among users .Some Musk fans applaud the change whereas long time users of the service aren’t too happy with the change. The platform is expected to be converted to something similar to WeChat that has multiple functionality from messaging, paying of bills and even ordering taxis.

The official company name was already changed from Twitter Inc to X Corp, an entity whose parent is X Holdings Corp, back in April. This move comes after rival social media giant Meta lauched Threads, an app similar to Twitter. Threads took the market by storm with a record breaking 100 million users in less than a week.
