Apple is preparing to launch its new iPhone 15 lineup in September with a lot of rumors and leaks about the device already in circulation. The lineup is expected to include iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max which might be getting a new name is the reports are anything to go by.
The biggest change in the new line up is the charging system. Apple have made the shift to USB-C instead of the iconic in-house Lightening charging. This is after the company yielded to regulations set by the European Union requiring all phone sold to use the USB-C connector by the end of 2024. The connector is already a market accepted standard for many other consumer electronics.
Reports also indicate that all models in the iPhone 15 line up will feature bigger batteries compared to the iPhone 14 line. The increases combined with Apple’s optimised in-house chips, the battery life is expected to be superb. Storage on the devices Pro has also received an upgrade. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max might get a new 2 Terabyte option. This is a first as all other previous models were capped at 1-TB.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will run on the Apple A16 chip with the Pro and Pro Max running on the new A17 Bionic chip
They might also be getting a new Action button to replace the Mute Switch. The new button is expected to have customizable function. Apple also says the switch improves dust and water protection.
